On June 5, 2026, witnessed by the top leaders of China and Laos, NDRC director
Zheng Zhaojie and the Lao deputy prime minister and finance minister and
chairman of the Lao–China Cooperation Committee signed a memorandum of
understanding between the National Development and Reform Commission and the
Lao–China Cooperation Committee to promote green industry cooperation. The MOU
targets collaboration in energy‑saving and decarbonisation industries,
environmental protection, resource recycling, green and low‑carbon energy
transition, green infrastructure upgrades, ecological protection and
restoration, and green services.
