Iran’s ambassador to Mexico, Pasandide, said the national football team has been
told it must enter and leave US territory on match days during the World Cup.
Citing a US and Israeli war on Tehran, Pasandide said the team is now based in
Mexico instead of the originally planned Tucson, Arizona; visa rules allow
morning entry but require same‑day departure. Iran has three group matches in
the US, scheduled in Los Angeles and Seattle.
