On the evening of the 6th local time, Iranian Interior Minister Momeni met
visiting Pakistani Interior Minister Nakevi. Momeni said the visit will focus on
bilateral issues including border security, counternarcotics and
counterterrorism, and that both sides agreed to raise annual bilateral trade
from $3bln to $10bln. Momeni said Iran welcomes Pakistan’s positive role in
easing Iran‑US tensions. Nakevi said Iran and Pakistan have brotherly ties and
delivered a special letter to Iran’s Supreme Leader from Pakistan’s army chief
Munir and Prime Minister Sharif; he added, I consider this message very
important. I hope everything goes smoothly and the crisis ends soon.
