The commander of Iran’s Khatam al-Anbia Central Command on the evening of the 7th warned Israel to immediately halt strikes on southern Lebanon and Beirut’s southern suburbs, saying Iran would take stronger action against Israel and its backers if attacks continue. Iran fired missiles at Israel that night in response to an expansion of Israeli military operations in Lebanon. Foreign Minister Araghchi posted a photo of the Iranian and Lebanese flags side-by-side on social media.

Local time on the evening of the 7th, the Israel Defense Forces said it detected missiles launched from Iran toward Israel. Israeli air-defence systems have been activated and are intercepting the threats; air-raid sirens sounded across multiple regions. The IDF said its rear command sent precautionary safety instructions to civilians’ mobile phones within minutes. Explosions were reported in central Israel. Iran has not yet commented.
