TrendForce projects the global satellite industry will reach $447 billion by
2027, with annual growth of about 14%, driven by satellite broadband,
direct-to-phone connectivity, space-based AI compute and space-based solar power
(SBSP). TrendForce says SpaceX—whose IPO prospects are being watched by
markets—is expanding beyond satellite broadband into phone-to-satellite
services, space AI compute and SBSP, and is enlarging its in-house space AI chip
fab Terafab to strengthen vertical integration and shift low‑Earth‑orbit
offerings from communications toward compute services as satellite networks, AI
infrastructure and space applications converge.
