In a Wall Street Journal phone interview on Tuesday, Trump said the blockade is
making Iran "very poor" and that he will maintain it as needed. He downplayed a
US Apache helicopter crash as "no big deal," saying the pilots were safe. Trump
earlier asserted Iran shot down the Apache during a patrol over the Strait of
Hormuz and said the US must respond. A CENTCOM spokesman said the Apache crew
were in the water for about two hours before being rescued after a nighttime
crash; a senior US official called their escape "miraculous."
