U.S. Vice President Vance said the U.S. is "very close" to a long-term agreement to resolve Iran's nuclear issue. He said the deal could be reached within a week or may take several months, but will "absolutely" be finalised before mid-November elections. Vance said the U.S. seeks an agreement that aligns with U.S. economic interests and ensures Iran cannot obtain nuclear weapons over the long term.

Hong Kong open: Hang Seng Index (HSI) down 0.50%, Hang Seng Tech Index down 0.38%. PCB and AI stocks led gains; chip, nonferrous metals and new-energy vehicle stocks lagged.
