CENTCOM said on June 10 that U.S. forces on June 9 disabled a tanker in the Gulf
of Oman after the vessel violated blockade measures. CENTCOM said the tanker
attempted to transport Iranian oil and, after repeatedly ignoring U.S. orders,
was struck by a U.S. aircraft using precision‑guided munitions and rendered
inoperable. Since launching the blockade on April 13, CENTCOM said U.S. forces
have disabled eight non‑compliant tankers, diverted 134 vessels cooperating with
inspections and allowed 42 ships carrying humanitarian aid to pass.
