Axios, citing two US sources, says Trump convened a war‑room meeting Wednesday
afternoon to discuss possible new strikes on Iran after telling reporters
earlier he would strike them again today. One option under consideration is a
large but short‑duration operation aimed at pressuring Iran to shift its
negotiating position. Attendees reportedly included Vance, Senator Rubio, the
CIA director, Joint Chiefs chair Dan Kain, White House envoy Witkoff and other
senior officials; Defense Secretary Heggses participated by video.
