The State Administration for Market Regulation mobilized domestic science and
tech teams to tackle long-standing reliance on foreign equipment and methods for
space-, airborne- and ground-based greenhouse gas monitoring that constrained
autonomous, precise quality control of carbon emissions data at national,
regional and sector levels. It announced breakthroughs in high‑resolution
domestic satellite CO2 and CH4 column-concentration measurement and
emission‑inversion core technologies, and said it has broken foreign technical
monopolies in mid‑scale CO2 flux detection using lidar with concurrent
wind‑field measurement.
