G7 officials say the United States and Iran are moving toward an agreement to reopen the Strait of Hormuz ahead of next week’s G7 summit. HKEX this week widened price bands for seven stock index futures in the post-close (T+1) session from ±5% to ±6%: HSI futures, HSI dividend-accumulation futures, Hang Seng China Enterprises Index futures, its dividend-accumulation futures, Hang Seng Tech futures, mini HSI futures and mini H‑shares futures. Hang Seng Biotech Index futures were not included. On June 11 HKEX said it reviews and adjusts futures bands periodically and currently has no plan to change the Biotech futures limit. The exchange said the notice was issued to invite brokers to participate in related rehearsals and that actual implementation awaits regulator approval. HKEX said the wider bands are intended to help maintain orderly trading and prevent liquidity drying up during extreme volatility.
