U.S. Energy Secretary Wright said about 7 mln barrels per day of oil and fuel
are now transiting the Strait of Hormuz, roughly half the volume that was
stranded at the start of the Iran war. He said no Iranian crude is currently
moving through the strait. Wright added that if an agreement is reached he
expects all products to transit the Persian Gulf freely; if not, the U.S.
military will restore shipping on the route. He said the U.S. will not impose an
oil export ban to suppress prices.
