As AI and high-end memory chip demand rises, electronic specialty gases —
electronic-grade gases with purity above 99.99% used in semiconductor
manufacturing — are in short supply for several core products. Several producers
say orders have jumped and production lines are running at high load. Since the
start of the year wafer fabs’ transport demand for these often
flammable/explosive, zero-inventory chemicals has surged, pushing delivery
schedules and logistics to full capacity.
