Germany rejected UniCredit's proposal to swap shares in Commerzbank, saying that from a financial perspective accepting UniCredit's offer is no longer an option. The government said UniCredit's bid failed to offer an adequate premium to Commerzbank's current share price.

TrendForce says memory vendors’ capacity plans are shifting toward HBM and high-layer 3D NAND, squeezing mature-node capacity used by NOR Flash and SLC SLC NAND. With demand stable, cumulative contract prices for both products rose over 100% in 1H 2026; suppliers have no major expansion plans, and TrendForce expects H2 prices to climb further as supply tightness persists.

Participants said advancing the "Six Networks" is necessary for current and near-term economic and social needs, will create large demand with strong multiplier effects and broad spillovers, and offers material opportunities for market expansion, investment and innovation; firms said they will actively participate to support national strategic priorities.
