On June 16 the UK announced sanctions on entities and individuals it said
supplied critical military equipment to Russia, including four Chinese entities.
The Chinese embassy in London said it strongly opposes the UK's unilateral
sanctions, has lodged formal representations and urged the UK to revoke the
measures. The embassy reiterated China's efforts to promote peace talks on
Ukraine and its strict controls on exports of military and dual-use items, said
normal China-Russia exchanges and cooperation should not be disrupted, and
warned Beijing will take necessary measures to safeguard the lawful rights and
interests of Chinese firms.
