On June 17 at the 2026 Lujiazui Forum, China Construction Bank president Zhang Yi said China's equity investment market shows three features: last year over 50% of invested companies were hard‑tech; state‑backed capital is rapidly expanding in scale, participant types and capital forms and is strengthening its market position—supporting national industrial policy and supplying long‑term, patient capital; and bank‑affiliated equity investors, aided by policy support, saw a noticeable increase in investment last year. He noted banks' overall equity investment amounts remain small but have become a non‑negligible source of capital.
