On June 17 at a regular briefing, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian was
asked about reports the US Commerce Department had deferred adding several
Chinese firms to its export-control entity list. Lin said China opposes
broadening the national-security concept and the abuse of entity lists and other
export-control tools to suppress Chinese companies, and urged the US to stop
politicizing, instrumentalizing and weaponizing economic, trade and technology
issues.
