Shanghai mayor Gong Zheng met Myanmar President Min Aung Hlaing on June 17. Min said Shanghai is central to China’s economy, noting strong development in industry, trade, finance and shipping, and called for strengthened comprehensive cooperation and deeper economic, trade and investment links. He invited more Shanghai companies to invest in Myanmar to expand bilateral commercial ties and benefit both populations.
