Iran foreign ministry spokesman Baghaei said Iran will not abandon its friends
under any circumstances and regards a ceasefire and end to hostilities in
Lebanon as equally important. He said Article 1 of the memorandum of
understanding names Lebanon three times and explicitly calls for respect for
Lebanon’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
