MOFCOM says China’s consumer market ran smoothly over this year’s Dragon Boat
holiday, with essential goods supply adequate and prices stable. In the first
two days of the holiday, footfall across 78 MOFCOM‑monitored pedestrian streets
and shopping districts rose 4.0% YoY and turnover rose 3.5% YoY. As of June 20,
the 2026 old‑for‑new trade‑in campaign has covered 136 mln person‑times and
generated over CNY1 trillion in sales; auto trade‑ins accounted for 3.428 mln
vehicles and CNY555.24 bln in sales, while appliance/digital/smart device
replacements totaled 132.895 mln units and CNY451.63 bln in sales.
