The blast and fire hit the Barzan local gas-supply facility, which was partially damaged earlier this year by a drone attack. Ras Laffan — the world’s largest LNG export complex — is being closely watched for restart timing because a rapid recovery would help ease global fuel prices. Vessel-tracking data show four tankers owned or long-term chartered by Qatar’s shipping arm are en route to Ras Laffan via the strait and are not masking AIS positions as Qatar prepares to redeploy empty tonnage and resume shipments.
