On June 22, Ghalibaf, head of Iran’s negotiation delegation and parliament
speaker, said management of the Strait of Hormuz will not return to its pre-war
status and, while claiming compliance with international law, will be carried
out under a mechanism set by Iran. He said Iran and the US agreed to establish a
coordination centre and hotline to resolve incidents more quickly within a
30-day timeframe. The hotline is not for approving transit permits, which will
follow existing procedures; it is intended only to handle vessel problems or
emergencies.
