On June 25 a source close to the negotiating team said Israel withdrawing from
Lebanese territory is one of Iran's conditions for a final U.S.-Iran accord and
is regarded by Iran's negotiators as an important "red line". The source said
the final memorandum of understanding would guarantee Lebanon's sovereignty and
territorial integrity. Text agreed earlier in Switzerland emphasized a
conflict-resolution mechanism to be implemented with Iranian participation and
unified execution. Iran is now following up on a timetable for implementation.
