Hong Kong-listed auto stocks continued to slide; Beijing Auto (01958.HK) fell more than 9%, NIO-SW (09866.HK) and BYD Co. (01211.HK) dropped over 5%, and GAC Group (02238.HK) and XPeng (09868.HK) declined over 4%.

Press TV reported President Trump has again ordered that Iraqi oil revenues under US control be deposited into an account at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. The directive cites Executive Order 13303, first signed after the 2003 US military action and renewed annually on national security grounds. The White House issued no press release; Trump sent a formal notice to Congress on May 4. In the notice he said “obstacles to Iraq’s orderly reconstruction, restoration and maintenance of domestic peace and security, and the development of political, administrative and economic institutions continue to pose an extraordinary and significant threat to US national security and foreign policy. Accordingly, the order must remain in effect after May 22, 2026.”
