CENTCOM said on June 27 it carried out additional strikes on multiple Iranian
targets after Iran this morning (04:30 ET) used a one-way attack drone to hit
and destroy the Panama‑flagged tanker M/T Kiku near the Strait of Hormuz. The
vessel was carrying more than 2 mln barrels of crude. CENTCOM said the action
responds to sustained Iranian attacks on merchant shipping, following a U.S.
strike yesterday that had been launched in retaliation for Iran’s attack on M/V
EverLovely. U.S. aircraft struck Iranian military surveillance and
communications sites, air‑defence positions, drone storage facilities and
mine‑laying capability.
