Wood Mackenzie forecasts EU gas storage will finish the key refill season
(typically Apr–Oct) at about 76 pct full, the lowest peak since 2011, increasing
risk of higher gas prices for businesses and households this winter. Supply
shortfalls reflect Middle East conflict disruptions to LNG shipments through the
Strait of Hormuz and production declines in Qatar and the UAE. EU storage began
the refill season unusually low at 28 pct after a cold winter; Gas
Infrastructure Europe (GIE) data show average storage currently around 48 pct.
