Hong Kong M3 money supply rose 1.0% YoY in May, down from 3.10% previously.

The State Administration for Market Regulation has ordered local market regulators to run a special campaign from June to December to boost antitrust enforcement efficiency for business concentrations. The initiative aims to use merger-and-acquisition oversight to promote competition, encourage innovation and legally support firms using M&A or restructuring to exit "involution-style" competition and promote higher-quality, value-based market competition. The campaign will focus on strengthening regulatory capacity, improving full-chain supervision quality and effectiveness, and enhancing compliance guidance.
