Iran's acting defense minister said Tehran is closely monitoring implementation
of the ceasefire and that if the agreement is violated it will "not hesitate" to
take appropriate and necessary measures. In a phone call with Qatar's deputy
prime minister and state minister for defense affairs he warned the Strait of
Hormuz should not be used by external powers and said foreign military presence
in the region increases the risk of miscalculation and insecurity.
