China launched its 62-day 2026 national summer railway transport period today. National railways expect to carry 1.01 bln passengers over the period, averaging 16.29 mln passengers per day. Guangzhou ranks among the country's busiest for summer travel; Guangzhou South station expects peak flows in early–mid July, early–mid August and on weekends, with Aug 8 forecast as the single busiest day at about 380,200 passengers.
