China A-share PV storage sector opened sharply lower, with the inverter index
plunging as onshore funds sold in panic. Industry leader Sungrow briefly fell
more than 19% after media reports and analysts linked the move to possible
actions by the US government; Sungrow said it is still investigating and has no
data yet on specific impact. GoodWe said US sales were just over 100 mln yuan
last year and only several tens of mln yuan in 1H, so the direct impact should
be limited and the share decline reflects sector sentiment. Ginlong said US
exports were under 1% last year and any impact would be negligible. Several
other firms said reporting is inconsistent and they are tracing original sources
to assess effects.
