China’s Ministry of Ecology and Environment has approved guidance to diversify
investment in environmental technology innovation and has adopted new
drinking‑water source water quality standards. The guidance calls for
accelerating a diversified financing framework—strengthening fiscal guidance,
expanding financial product supply and mobilizing social capital—to boost
innovation supply and industrialization in the environmental sector. It mandates
a full‑chain regulatory framework covering project approval, fund use, process
supervision and performance evaluation, and requires more penetrating oversight
and dynamic monitoring of innovation funding.
