Early session, China's main futures contracts opened mixed with declines
outnumbering gains. SC crude fell over 4%; LPG and container freight (Europe
route) dropped more than 3%; methanol declined nearly 3%; fuel oil and
low-sulfur fuel oil (LU) slipped over 2%. Down more than 1% were polypropylene,
asphalt, benzene, BR rubber, plastics, p-xylene, ethylene glycol, propylene,
coke, polysilicon and styrene. On the upside, platinum rose over 2%; iron ore
and Shanghai silver gained more than 1%; Shanghai gold, soybean meal and pulp
were up around 1%.
