At midday close in China, onshore main futures were mostly lower: SC crude oil futures fell more than 5% and paraxylene (PX) dropped over 4%; PTA, fuel oil and synthetic rubber declined over 3%, bottle-grade PET fell about 3%, and asphalt, ethylene glycol (EG), methanol, short fiber, LPG and polypropylene slid more than 2%. Advancers included platinum (up over 5%), palladium (near 3%), coated paper and Shanghai silver (around 2%), with Shanghai gold, egg futures and soda ash up just over 1% and rapeseed meal up about 1%.

Korea Exchange activated the sidecar mechanism for the KOSDAQ index, suspending KOSDAQ program trading.
