Zhu blamed the Democratic Progressive Party for obstructing ECFA implementation—attacking the pact before taking office, then failing to remove discriminatory trade restrictions, repeatedly changing rules and erecting barriers that disrupted normal cross‑strait economic exchange—and placed full responsibility on the DPP. She said ECFA had previously delivered concrete benefits to Taiwanese firms, especially SMEs and agricultural and fisheries producers.
