China's largest film base, Hengdian Film and TV City, announced subsidies including free access to 500,000 sqm of soundstages and more than 200,000 sqm of additional free sets. The measures target period, historical and contemporary genres and cover films, variety shows and both horizontal- and vertical-screen series. Hengdian said the package will deliver industry concessions of over CNY100m a year and is expected to reduce comprehensive shooting costs for crews filming in Hengdian by about 30%
