The 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference and High-level Meeting on
Global AI Governance will be held in Shanghai July 17-20. On July 7 the Shanghai
municipal government held a press briefing; city leaders and officials from the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Development and Reform Commission
(NDRC), the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the Shanghai
Commission of Economy and Informatization and Donghao Lansheng Group outlined
preparatory progress.
