Yu Wenjian, former party secretary and chairman of the Shanghai Gold Exchange, has been appointed deputy party secretary and director of the People's Bank of China (PBOC) Shanghai headquarters, concurrently serving as head of the PBOC Shanghai branch and director of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange’s Shanghai bureau. He succeeds Jin Penghui, who was reassigned in May as deputy secretary-general of the Shanghai municipal government.
