On July 2, 2026, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information
Technology and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO)
signed a joint statement to institutionalize strategic cooperation on Beijing's
industrial development, innovation and digitalization. The agreement creates a
long-term framework focused on information exchange, experience sharing,
industrial collaboration, capacity building and technology transfer, explicitly
linking Beijing's industrial digitalization with UN sustainable industrial
development efforts. Two priority tasks are establishing a Global Center of
Excellence for Intelligent Manufacturing and Robotics and deepening
participation in the Global Digital Economy Conference, including support for
the Global Digital Economy Cities Alliance.
