ANTHROPIC has begun early-stage R&D on a proprietary AI chip and is in talks with Samsung Electronics to consider Samsung as a potential chip foundry partner. The move, mirroring OpenAI, aims to boost control over the high-cost compute hardware that supports its large models.

CGN's Guangdong Taipingling nuclear power Unit 2 — the Greater Bay Area's first Hualong One project — synchronized to the grid today and dispatched its first kWh, marking the unit's capability to supply power. The unit will undergo further performance verification and is scheduled for commercial operation in H2 2026.

At the Yabuli Forum Innovation Annual Conference in Shanghai (July 3-4), Yushu Technology co‑founder Chen Li said the company has completed in‑house R&D and production of core components and underlying architecture, enabling end‑to‑end manufacture of quadruped and humanoid robots, robotic arms, pump bodies and dexterous hands. He said joint‑motor core technology is fully self‑developed and the upstream only involves basic raw materials such as copper wire and magnets, with the supply chain fully autonomous and controllable. Chen added Yushu’s self‑developed stack delivers leading cost‑performance, reliability, stability and consistency, and the firm continues to invest in control, perception, navigation and AI algorithm R&D, with multiple patent filings.
