UN Secretary-General Guterres told the inaugural government-level AI global
dialogue in Geneva on Monday that AI is developing faster than anyone can track
and urged unified global rules to reduce potential risks, especially to
children. He said the technology can reshape economies, change labour markets,
influence elections and alter security balances, and that deployment has
outpaced everyone — including developers — adding that innovation needs
"guardrails" and AI must be subject to effective governance.
