European bourses opened mixed on Tuesday July 7: Germany's DAX30 fell 42.58 points (-0.16%) to 25,789.94 at the open; the UK's FTSE 100 rose 7.56 points (0.07%) to 10,659.33; France's CAC 40 gained 28.26 points (0.33%) to 8,508.13; the Euro Stoxx 50 dropped 18.06 points (-0.28%) to 6,379.95; Spain's IBEX 35 added 25.79 points (0.13%) to 19,709.59; Italy's FTSE MIB was up 38.36 points (0.07%) at 52,997.50.

UNCTAD's World Investment Report 2026 says 2025 global FDI rose 6% to $1.6 trillion, ending a two-year decline but the recovery is narrow, fragile and uneven. In 2025 FDI into developed economies increased 11%, while developing economies saw a 2% rise. The top 20 FDI recipient economies captured more than 80% of flows, highlighting rising concentration, especially in technology, energy and industries shaped by industrial policy. The top 20 FDI recipient economies captured more than 80% of flows, highlighting rising concentration, especially in technology, energy and industries shaped by industrial policy. Strategic sectors — AI infrastructure, semiconductors, critical minerals and energy-transition technologies and services — accounted for 44% of global greenfield investment in 2025 versus 16% in 2020.
