Shanghai on July 8 introduced its 15th Five-Year plan for rural revitalization.
Feng Zhiyong, director of the Shanghai Municipal Agriculture and Rural Affairs
Commission, said agricultural science and technology accounted for 81.7% of
productivity gains by the end of the 14th Five-Year period, the highest
nationwide. He cited breakthroughs in seed innovation, biomanufacturing and
smart farm machinery, and said a Shanghai firm this year registered what
officials described as the world's first RNA-based bactericide.
