At midday close, China’s main futures contracts were mostly higher. SC crude,
low-sulfur fuel oil (LU) and fuel oil rose over 6%; benzene gained more than 5%;
styrene (EB) and methanol climbed over 4%; propylene was up nearly 4% and
polypropylene rose over 3%. On the downside, industrial silicon, stainless steel
(SS) and lithium carbonate fell more than 2%; apples and cotton lost over 1%;
Shanghai nickel, white sugar and cotton yarn were about 1% lower.
