The U.S. defense secretary canceled a planned visit to Israel, The Jerusalem Post reports.

Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting reported on the 8th that the Khatam al‑Anbiya Central Headquarters of the Iranian armed forces said it will respond decisively to the U.S. strike and reiterated that under no circumstances will the U.S. be allowed to interfere in management of the Strait of Hormuz. The statement said Iran‑designated transit lanes are the only safe route for tankers and merchant vessels through the Strait of Hormuz.

US President Trump said he may strike Iran again tonight and will monitor developments before deciding. He said Iranian behavior was extremely bad and that the US struck Iran after Iranian attacks on ships in the Strait of Hormuz. He added any US strikes are aimed at preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, not regime change, and reiterated that Iran must not obtain nuclear weapons.
