The MPC urged stronger policy-rate guidance, improved market-based rate formation and transmission, greater market-rate pricing discipline, and tighter execution and supervision of interest-rate policy.

At the NATO summit, US President Trump said Iran asked him not to strike during Supreme Leader Khamenei's funeral and that the US agreed; he said Iran subsequently attacked three ships belonging to Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Trump added: 'Frankly, we could have killed all Iranian leaders during Khamenei's funeral,' and said Defense Secretary Hegseth praised the idea.
