Iran parliamentary national security committee spokesman Rezaei told Fars News
that in a future confrontation "the enemy will face a full and sudden strike."
He said Iran retains several options not used during the 40-day war, including
withdrawing from the Nuclear Non‑Proliferation Treaty, revising its nuclear
doctrine, and blockading the Bab al‑Mandeb outside the Strait of Hormuz. A
parliamentary proposal to withdraw from the NPT has been prepared for review;
Rezaei said revising nuclear doctrine could be put on the table if Iran faces an
existential threat.
