As of 17:00, Bavi was about 1,430 km southeast of Keelung, Taiwan; near‑center maximum winds were force 17, classified as a super typhoon. Bavi is expected to move west‑northwest at 15–20 km/h with little change in intensity, gradually approaching northeastern Taiwan’s coast. Heavy rainfall is expected first in Taiwan, Zhejiang and Fujian; as the system moves inland its rain bands are forecast to push north across the middle and lower Yangtze and could extend into North China and the Huanghuai region.
