China’s National Immigration Administration said on July 10 that immigration
authorities processed 369.0 mln exits and entries in 1H 2026, up 10.8% y/y and a
historical high. Mainland residents accounted for 176.0 mln, Hong
Kong/Macau/Taiwan residents 147.0 mln and foreigners 45.906 mln, y/y changes of
+10.7%, +8.1% and +20.6% respectively. Inbound foreign arrivals totaled 22.914
mln (+20.4%), with visa‑free arrivals at 17.815 mln, 77.7% of inbound foreigners
and up 30.6% y/y. Top ten source countries for inbound foreign visitors were
South Korea, Russia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, the United States,
Japan, Mongolia and Australia, accounting for 62% of inbound foreigners.
