Typhoon Bavi entered China’s 24-hour warning zone at 15:00, now under 900 km
from the Zhejiang–Fujian border; its outer spiral cloud bands are already
affecting offshore waters. Entry into the 24-hour zone indicates the storm is
expected to have a significant impact within 24 hours; meteorological
authorities will monitor hourly and issue updates. The Central Meteorological
Observatory forecasts Bavi will approach the Zhejiang–Fujian coast and make
landfall in the predawn hours of the 12th between Wenling (Zhejiang) and Xiapu
(Fujian) at strong-typhoon or typhoon intensity, then turn northwest then north
and gradually weaken after landfall.
