An anonymous Egyptian security source said on the 9th a Hamas leadership delegation met Egyptian officials in Cairo to discuss implementing the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire. The delegation, made up of senior Hamas officials, confirmed it will transfer Gaza’s administrative authority to the Gaza National Administrative Committee and agreed to hand weapons to that committee for safekeeping. Hamas also said it would facilitate deployment of peacekeeping forces and the committee’s work to pave the way for phase-two implementation.

Sources said Russia has temporarily suspended shipping via the Don River–Azov Sea waterway after Ukraine attacked an Azov Sea oil tanker. The move could affect nearly a quarter of Russia's wheat exports that transit the Azov Sea. Officials gave no timeframe for the suspension.
